Last Days is a pretty impressive LotR mod with a dynamic campaign in which the forces of light fight against the forces of darkness, and the player can take any side.
The samurai mod (whose name escapes me) looked pretty cool, A Shield Lying On The Water is cool in that it starts with you being able to field fair-sized armies from the very beginning and stresses conquering and a bit of diplomacy. What this means is that while there aren't any mods to choose from unless you go to older versions of the game, in a bit of time the mod culture should flourish.Įdit: As for the mods themselves, I haven't tried very many. It should get better, however as I understand, version 1 is supposed to be a stable platform from now on, meaning that mods made for it should work with upcoming versions as well. And as the version 1 has only been out a few days, there are no mods for it yet. The thing about the mods is that they tend to be version-specific.
